VTEX was founded in 2000 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The company’s focus is a digital commerce platform (PaaS) for enterprises. The international expansion started in 2013, first in Latam, later in North America, Europe, and then globally.

When I joined VTEX, the company was structuring the IPO on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The company went public on July 21st, 2021, under the stock quote VTEX.

Senior Engineering Manager for the Omnichannel Experiences product vertical (from Nov 2024 to date)

I lead engineering for the Omnichannel Experiences vertical within VTEX’s product organization — 35 engineers and engineering managers across 4 fully remote, distributed teams in Brazil and Colombia, owning a domain that processes billions in annual GMV with double-digit YoY growth.

The vertical helps VTEX merchants sell consistently across every channel, unifying the digital and physical retail experience. My teams build:

  • Marketplace: integrations that let merchants expand to and operate across external marketplaces from a single place
  • Remote and in-store sales: the Sales App drives conversion and customer satisfaction
  • Live shopping: real-time, interactive shopping experiences

Alongside delivery, I own the technical direction and organizational health of the vertical, develop engineers and engineering managers, and contribute to hiring and engineering leadership across the broader company.

Engineering Manager for the Marketplace product vertical (from Jan 2024 to Oct 2024)

Stepped up from leading a single team to leading the full Marketplace vertical, bringing VTEX marketplaces (marketplace-in) and external marketplaces (marketplace-out, formerly the Connections team) under one engineering organization.

Drove improvements in service availability and resilience that, combined with product enhancements, contributed to meaningful GMV growth.

Engineering Manager for the Connections team (from May 2021 to Dec 2023)

Led the Connections team, responsible for the platform capabilities that let VTEX merchants advertise and sell their products across external marketplaces (marketplace-out).
