My name is Eduardo Klein, and I am a Brazilian software engineering manager and a proud husband and father of two. I live with my family in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

Engineering leader with 20+ years in technology, focused on building and scaling the teams behind digital commerce, capital markets, and mobile products.

I currently lead engineering for Omnichannel Experiences at VTEX, spanning the Sales App and our Marketplace ecosystem — 35 engineers and engineering managers across 4 fully remote, distributed teams in Brazil and Colombia, powering a domain that processes billions in annual GMV with double-digit YoY growth. My work sits at the intersection of product, business, and engineering: turning ambiguous goals into shipped outcomes, and creating the conditions for engineers to grow into senior and leadership roles.

What I optimize for is leverage — engineers and engineering managers who own their decisions, clear technical direction, and delivery systems (Lean, Agile, DevOps, DORA) that let teams ship reliably without heroics.

Developing people is not only where I have the most impact — it’s also what I find most fulfilling in my career. Within my organization I’ve sponsored 10+ promotions to Senior Engineer and helped engineers step into engineering leadership roles, both on the management track and as Staff-level technical leaders. Beyond my own vertical, I’m an active contributor to hiring across the company and a regular voice in our performance and promotion calibrations.

I work for VTEX in the digital commerce industry. I am the engineering leader for the Omnichannel Experiences product vertical.

My teams are responsible for developing and maintaining solutions that enable VTEX platform merchants to manage their omnichannel experiences, which includes marketplace integrations, as well as physical store and live shopping solutions. We are distributed across many states in Brazil and countries in South America, and I work remotely from my hometown.

I also have previous experience in software development within the financial market at Nelogica and mobile device management at Mobiltec.

Senior Engineering Manager at VTEX (from May 2021 to date)

I lead engineering for the Omnichannel Experiences vertical within VTEX’s product organization — 35 engineers and engineering managers across 4 fully remote, distributed teams in Brazil and Colombia, owning a domain that processes billions in annual GMV with double-digit YoY growth.

The vertical helps VTEX merchants sell consistently across every channel, unifying the digital and physical retail experience. My teams build:

  • Marketplace: integrations that let merchants expand to and operate across external marketplaces from a single place
  • Remote and in-store sales: the Sales App drives conversion and customer satisfaction
  • Live shopping: real-time, interactive shopping experiences

Alongside delivery, I own the technical direction and organizational health of the vertical, develop engineers and engineering managers, and contribute to hiring and engineering leadership across the broader company.

Expanded version

Software Development Manager at Nelogica (from Jan 2019 to Apr 2021)

I served as the head of the development teams in the Corporate Applications sector, responsible for the institutional website, billing system, extranet for brokers and partners, and integration systems.

Through the development and leadership of my teams, I expanded the sector from two teams of fewer than 10 engineers to five teams, with a total of up to 30 engineers, supporting the rapid growth of the organization.

Software Development Manager at Mobiltec (from Jan 2009 to Jan 2019)

Over my sixteen-year tenure at Mobiltec, I have progressively taken on more leadership responsibilities. In the past ten years, I have led our Porto Alegre office’s entire product development team, focusing on corporate mobile device management (MDM) solutions.

I began my career at Mobiltec in 2003 as a developer and advanced to the role of software development manager. Throughout my time with the company, I have participated in all organizational transformations, playing a key role in implementing agile methodologies and lean system development practices.
